Day 1:
Queenstown to Mount Cook
Embark on an enchanting journey from Queenstown as you head north towards Christchurch. Traverse the Otago province, passing through the iconic Kawarau Gorge with its historic Bungy bridge. Explore the gliding center of Omarama and the captivating "Clay Cliffs" in the Mackenzie Country. Cross the Lindis Pass, experiencing a dramatic change in the landscape as you make your way to Mount Cook National Park.

As you approach Mount Cook, witness the stunning turquoise lakes of Tekapo and Pukaki. The Southern Alps unfold before you, with Aoraki Mount Cook standing proudly at 3754 meters. Take the opportunity for invigorating walks amidst alpine vistas and explore the world-famous Tasman Glacier, the longest glacier in a temperate zone.

Day 2:
Mount Cook to Christchurch
Enjoy additional time for walks or perhaps opt for an exhilarating glacier flight with a landing on the Tasman Glacier before departing from Mount Cook. Travel south through the MacKenzie Plains, appreciating the expansive landscapes. Pass through the Mackenzie Country, cross Burke's Pass, and journey through small picturesque country towns.

Continue your exploration across the Canterbury Plains, crossing the Rakaia River and its impressive gorge. Your route takes you through the foothills alongside the Southern Alps, offering a captivating backdrop.\

Arrive in Christchurch, where your Canterbury Trails guide will bid you farewell at your accommodation. Please note that this tour can also be started in Christchurch and finished in Queenstown, providing flexibility for your travel plans.
