Day 1: Queenstown to Mount Cook

Embark on a captivating three-day adventure starting in the lively town of Queenstown. Head north through the enchanting Otago province, passing through the iconic Kawarau Gorge and exploring the gliding hub of Omarama. Witness the striking "Clay Cliffs" in the Mackenzie Country before crossing the Lindis Pass, revealing a dramatic change in the landscape as you approach Mount Cook National Park.

As you draw near Mount Cook, be mesmerized by the turquoise beauty of Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. Aoraki Mount Cook, standing at 3754 meters, commands attention in the Southern Alps skyline. Choose from optional activities such as invigorating walks amidst alpine vistas or exploring the world-renowned Tasman Glacier.


Day 2: Leisure Day in Tekapo or Mount Cook

Indulge in a leisurely day in either Tekapo or Mount Cook, each offering unique attractions. In Tekapo, unwind in the rejuvenating hot pools and explore the world-famous observatory for an enchanting stargazing experience. Alternatively, at Mount Cook, partake in numerous activities, including stunning walks, invigorating glacier flights, or boat trips for an up-close encounter with a glacier.

Day 3: Mount Cook/Tekapo to Christchurch

 Travel north through the MacKenzie Plains, appreciating the expansive landscapes. Pass through the Mackenzie Country, cross Burke's Pass, and journey through small picturesque country towns.

Continue your exploration across the Canterbury Plains, crossing the Rakaia River and its impressive gorge. Your route takes you through the foothills alongside the Southern Alps, offering a captivating backdrop.

Arrive in Christchurch, where your Canterbury Trails guide will bid you farewell at your accommodation. Please note that this tour can also be started in Christchurch and finished in Queenstown, providing flexibility for your travel plans.
